The well known, eternally wise, line from Ecclesisastes 3:1 is our constant reminder that “to all things there is a season.” And every season has a beginning.
The beginning is where we are right now for this blessed season of the West Brazos Herald (and, Lord willing, it will be a long and successful season, too.)
Below are the names of those who will be able to say they have been with The West Brazos Herald from its start. They are our Founding Sustaining Contributors, so far. (We’ll be adding names to this list through Dec. 31 then on New Year’s Day, we’ll be preserving the names for posterity.)
Thanks to our Sustaining Contributors

It’s easy to join this list. Just click the link below to use a debit card and sign up via PayPal to automatically contribute at least $10/month for as long as you feel led.
Before you contribute, our prayer is that you will look over these notes about Sustaining Contributors:
- All sustaining contributors will receive our inaugural e-Edition sent directly to their email address, and (upon request) we’ll mail and/or hand deliver you a printed version. (It will be a small-but-legible print on regular 8.5″ x 11″ paper, not the full broadsheet size that we intend to distribute free to everyone in the very near future. But it might become a collector’s item, just the same.) We are planning a wide variety of other perks and gifts for our Sustaining Contributors as well, but, well, this is the beginning. We don’t have those ready to go yet. All Founding Sustaining Contributors will receive them retroactively, once we have them set up.
- To meet our financial projections — which we have prayed over extensively — the West Brazos Herald will need at least 30 new Sustaining Contributors giving at least $20/month each month beginning in December and continuing through 2020. So, please consider those needs as you decide your precise contribution amount, and please help us encourage your friends to join you as a Sustaining Contributor. As funds begin rolling in, we will post one of those traditional fundraising “thermometers” on the Get Involved/Donate link above, so everyone can keep track of where we are.
- Though we plan to become a non-profit corporation offering tax deductible donations, we are not quite there yet. As of this writing (Nov. 11, 2019), we are waiting for our Certificate of Formation to be approved by the Texas Secretary of State. So, for the time being, all contributions are being recorded as revenue for a sole proprietorship formed as the West Brazos Herald, an Brazoria County assumed name of our founder Don Cudd. All contributions received after our Certificate of Formation is finalized will become tax deductible retroactively pending the approval of our 501c(3) apply which we intend to file upon receipt of the Certificate of Formation. We will post updates on all of these business matters in our Start-Up News and Events article category.
Your contribution is a blessing! We thank you for it in advance!
