Agenda Set for Tuesday’s Sweeny City Council Meeting

A chief goal of the West Brazos Herald is to be in attendance at meetings of city councils, school boards, and other public entities across the region as often as possible given our small, all-volunteer staff. And tonight’s meeting of the Sweeny City Council will be our first time out. Click here to see the official agenda for the meeting as posted on the city’s website. Lord willing, we’ll post a quick note of highlights shortly after the meeeting, but anything we say in that post will, of course, tell only a small fraction of what transpired. We always encourage local residents to attend such events in person when possible. Being civic minded in our blessed democracy is just a Godly thing to do.

(Note: We have heard a promise from the Lord that our resources will be sufficient to pay competitive salaries to several full-time staff members in early 2020, so we are trusting that our “start-up” days of covering the area with a harried, skeleton crew of volunteers will be but temporary.
