Lord Leads Small Wild Peach Congregation to Inspire the World, One Shoebox at a Time

Grace Baptist Church pastor Mark Brumbelow can tell stories for hours — probably even days! — about the Operation Christmas Child miracles the 53 members of his Wild Peach congregation have seen since 2014. That year, the group sent 43 shoeboxes filled with Christmas gifts to children overseas. This year, the grand total is 11,139 — up from 10,546 in 2018.

The Herald’s Inaugural e-Edition Dec. 6 issue will have details on a massive move from the Lord that has transformed this small church into a consistent — and inspirational — national leader in the international ministry.

Pastor Mark Brumelow supervises volunteers Nov. 25 as they load boxes of gifts into one of three trucks soon to be headed from Wild Peach to The World.
Grace Baptist’s Operation Christmas Child ministry is so well organized that the church, this year, became a regional drop-off center, accepting gifts collected and packed by volunteers across much of Brazoria, Matagorda and Wharton Counties. This set of nearly 1,500 boxes arrived at the church from Bay City.
This group of volunteers from First Baptist Church Lake Jackson brought the gifts they collected and then stayed around to help load thousands of other gifts onto the trucks.
Inspired by the Godly success of the Grace Baptist ministry, volunteers from Father’s House Church in Jones Creek gathered for a “packing party” of their own on November 15. That group contributed at total of 162 boxes to Operation Christmas Child in 2019, the most ever for its ministry.
