Grace Baptist in Wild Peach to Continue New Year’s Eve Packing Party Tradition — Everyone Welcome
The front page of the West Brazos Herald’s Inaugural e-Edition featured a story about the small-but-blessed congregation of Grace Baptist Church continuing its miraculous run preparing and sending gift boxes across the world as part of the Internationally known Operation Christmas Child ministry.
One thing we neglected to mention in that article (because, well, frankly, we ran out of space. An awesome sign that God had even more good news than we had room to tell.) is that the church has an blessed tradition of hosting OCC packing parties every New Year’s Eve, and they plan to do it again this year.
“Ever since God told us to get serious about Operation Christmas Child (in about 2013), we’ve done this on New Year’s Eve,” Pastor Mark Brumelow said in a quote we regret we had to leave out of the original article. “We end each year packing for OCC, and then we start each year doing the same. And it’s always a great time. God makes sure of that!” (Pastor Mark, we are learning, is always good for an upbeat, inspiring Godly quote or two.)
For more about all this, please click the link above to read the original article, and then why not make some Godly New Year’s Eve plans to head over to the church to help out tomorrow night? (We’ll definitely be popping in with our camera!) Cherry Brumelow, Mark’s wife, just sent us text message saying they’d love to have you.
The church is at 5050 County Road 353. They’ll start packing about 7 p.m., and continue until, well, sometime after midnight.
