Volunteers Needed to Help Spread the News of Herald’s Inaugural e-Edition

The West Brazos Herald’s volunteer crew of writers and photographers will be busy, busy, busy this week excitedly preparing for our Inaugural e-Edition, coming on Friday, Dec. 6. (Plenty of folks have asked if we know what time the edition will be available on Friday: for the moment, we expect to hit “upload” on the pdf file by about 4 p.m., but only God knows the exact time it will happen. We appreciate the excitement in all those requests, and we’re sorry we can’t be more specific.)

And, while we would rather be handing off 11,000 actual printed newspapers to a team of delivery people for free distribution to homes and businesses across West Brazos (just like our friends at the beloved Brazoria County News did for decades before it closed in September), we simply don’t have the money for printing and delivery just yet. (Keyword, yet! We have definitely heard a promise from the Lord that we’ll have resources for free, weekly distribution sometime in 2020.)

But we did receive a blessed donation on Saturday to cover the cost of printing several thousand cards announcing that the e-Edition is up (or, well, that it will be up on Friday).

And now we’re planning Distribution Saturday!

If you, dear reader, will happen to be free for a couple of hours on Saturday, please drop a quick email to our social media coordinator Cheryl Cudd and let her know: [email protected]. You can also leave a message on our Facebook Page: @WestBrazosHerald and/or reply below to this very post. Or, you can just contact anyone on our team.

We could use a couple of dozen folks willing to help get the cards distributed in a number of ways: we’ll have some people handing out the cards from tables set up in front of local stores, others will walk around the area’s neighborhoods slipping cards onto doors, and still others will take handfuls of the cards into local shops and ask if the merchants might be willing to put a few out near their check-out stands and such.

If you like what you’ve seen so far here on our site, we pray you’ll have a little time this weekend to help us get things off to a REALLY awesome start.
